Collaborative. Creative. Focused. Just three words that describe the experience the Sedgwick County Zoo cherished when working with the Downing Foundation on the Downing Gorilla Forest.
From the initial contact of interest, through the planning phases, and finally, project completion, the Downing Foundation provided leadership in ensuring a high quality outcome for the Zoo. The balance between creative direction with the foundation and the design team provided a very collaborative environment to ensure the best possible outcomes for all defined objectives.
And working through any major project, obstacles do surface. But always keeping focused on the preferred outcomes, the Downing Foundation provided the understanding and patience to ensure all parties involved felt good about the experience and the end result.
Now, years past its opening date, the Downing Gorilla Forest continues to be one of the Zoo’s most popular exhibits visited by more than a half a million people annually.
